FALL Retreat at Summer Lake

September 24 - 26, 2010

We are truly excited and looking forward to coming together again for this year’s Fall Retreat at Summer Lake, Oregon.  We anticipate seeing familiar faces and meeting new ones as we come together to commune in His Spirit.  We invite everyone to come prepared to share whatever they can, be it bounty, knowledge, or skill.

Sharing: Please bring enough food and beverages for yourself and to share with others.

Dinner has become the main meal where we all come together and share potluck-style ‘round the camp fire.

Breakfast and lunch are commonly shared in smaller groups that naturally form.

We welcome those who wish to come a day or two early to share in retreat preparations such as cutting firewood, setting up areas, etc.

Presentations: This year we begin the tradition of sharing knowledge and skills so that each person leaves more able to live God’s Kingdom. If you have knowledge or skills you would like to share, please provide Presenters’ & Entertainers’ Information to James Williams by August 31, 2010.  This will help us coordinate and schedule the presentations so everyone has appropriate setup and ample time.

While we will try to conduct most of the presentations Sept 24 - 26, some may be scheduled for Sept 27 - 28.  Please remember to bring paper and pencil just in case you want to take down notes!

Accommodations:  The retreat is held in a remote area of south central Oregon.  There are a few rooms available in the nearby town of Summer Lake, so make your reservations early at The Lodge at Summer Lake.  RV’s, campers, and tent camping can be accommodated at Ana Reservoir RV Park on a first-come, first-served basis; camping fees will be applied.  More rustic, free camping may be accommodated around Ana Reservoir where there is also a dock and pit toilets.  Nearby Fremont-Winema National Forests also have campgrounds and thousands of acres of forest lands.  The Summer Lake General Store also sells gas and is a few miles away on Highway 31.

Transportation, Carpools, Caravans:  There are some who would like to carpool or share expenses if there is room to accommodate extra passengers.  Caravans are also encouraged for safety and roadside assistance.  This will take coordination through the Living Network.  If you are not already a member, you are missing out on one of the great tools of the Kingdom.

Airports:  The Bend (Redmond) Airport is the closest commercial airfield with car rental available.  If you are flying your own plane, there are landing strips at both Paisley Airport and Christmas Valley Airport, about 42 miles away.  Major airports at Boise, Idaho, Reno, Nevada, and Portland, Oregon are all about the same distance from Summer Lake.

Make your plans and come prepared.

Sponsorship donations for the Fall Retreat are accepted.
